In 1905, Korea began to "be protected" single-handedly by Japan. Mr. Kim Chang-Gang, who was upright and never stooped to flattery, did not tolerate to become a slave of a foreign power, so he resigned from the Korean court and exiled _x000D_ himself to China with his wife and daughter in a small boat. In 1912, Mr. Kim became a Chinese citizen. He died in 1927 and was buried in the southern foot of the Lang hill by the local people. Most of Mr. Kim Chang-Gang's works were written and published in China. He has been regarded as one of the greatest Korean literati. His positive outlook on literature got well-considered. In addition, his contribution not _x000D_ only to new creation of literature but also to preservation and development of Korean literature has profound significance.
