| dc.description.abstract | 本文針對建立兩岸事件資料庫申論以下四點：一、將質化事件轉為量化數據，必然會產生許多偏見，因此資料庫的數量應該要擴大。二、為了避免概念的過度延伸，擴大選取資料數量的工作需要人為的判斷，而不是以電腦軟體進行機械選取。三、事件資料庫的功用不一定集中在統計方法，資料庫可以同時是假設驗證、假設產生、以及假設解釋的根據。四、雖然質變量的工作充滿本體論上的難題，但是可以用方法論的技巧給予改善。 | |

| dc.description.translationabstract | Regarding the establishment of the Cross-Strait Event Dataset, this paper argued that first, because of the inevitable structural bias within the dataset selecting and coding process from qualitative to quantitative analysis, the size of the event database should be expanded. Second, to avoid the possible problem of over-stretching the_x000D_ concept, the selecting and coding work of the dataset should be processed by researchers instead of machine-coded computer software. Third, the function of the event dataset is not necessarily limited to statistical methodology; the dataset can be utilized for hypothesis-testing, hypothesis-generating and hypothesis-explaining as well, which are also crucial to the accumulation of social science knowledge. Fourth,_x000D_ the ontological problem of the practice of event dataset establishment can be resolved by methodological attempts. | |
