New Efficient Password Authenticated Key Exchange Protocol for Imbalanced Wireless Networks

Abstract

Yeh et al. recently proposed a password-based authenticated key exchange protocol based on RSA for imbalanced wireless networks. However, several scholars pointed out that Yeh et al.’s protocol is insecure against off-line password guessing attacks and inefficient enough for mobile devices in terms of the computational load. This paper will propose a new efficient and secure password authenticated key exchange protocol. Both security and performance of the proposed protocol are better than previously proposed protocols.
