dc.description.abstractThis paper presents a new watermarking method based on the vector quantization algorithm. The work to insert a watermark into an image is accomplished by altering the way of doing image vector quantization. The method reduces the vector quantization resolution in the search space, and thus marks the host image in that it may not produce the truly best codevectors according to the watermarking bits. Various experiments have been conducted and shown that the proposed vector quantization watermarking method is of tampering resistance and is robust to a variety of common image processing operations, including channel noise, loss compression, lowpass filtering, rescaling, and cropping.
