dc.description.abstractIn this paper, we explore the performance of TCP in a mobile environment and propose efficient schemes to satisfy the requirement of wireless network where packet loss may happen due to network congestion, wireless link error or handoff. We propose an algorithm to resolve all problems altogether in the mobile TCP (M_TCP). Several conditions including error free, random error in wireless link, slow fading and fast fading and handoff are covered in performance study by our proposed schemes. The results show that the throughput, goodput and mean delay under different fading parameters and pause time really improve the per- formance of M_TCP in a wireless network environment.
