dc.description.abstractWireless sensor networks are composed of large numbers on tiny networked devices, which are called sensor nodes. To implement a sensor network application, we need an operating system that provides a complete hardware control libraries and schemes to interactive with the sensor node hardware. In this paper, we design and implement a lightweight operating system (LOS) for wireless sensor networks. We implement four applications in our LOS and TinyOS, respectively. The code sizes used in our LOS can save about 42% to 67% memory space for the four applications compared to TinyOS.
